Ingeteam to present its converter offering at Windergy India after record year in the country

Ingeteam, an independent global supplier of electrical conversion equipment, announced today that it will present its full wind energy converter offering at Windergy India on April 26th. Ingeteam reported a record performance in India last year, with deliveries reaching a peak volume of 1,268 MW, making the company the number one wind converter supplier in this highly competitive market.

According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of India, the country’s total wind power capacity has reached more than 28 GW, with an additional 3,612 MW installed in 2016 alone. Ingeteam ended 2016 with more than 35% of the wind power capacity installed in the country that year. To date, 9% of all wind power capacity in India is equipped with Ingeteam’s technology.

At Windergy, Ingeteam will showcase its low & medium voltage power converters ranging from 100 KW to 12 MW. Its converters are designed to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability and comply with the strictest grid codes. Built for easy maintenance, optimized to be compatible with all generator technologies and suitable for on and offshore applications.

As market leader, Ingeteam also announced that it was sponsoring GWEC’s Global Wind Report, the market research of reference in the wind industry, which will be officially launched at the show. The report will also be presented by webcast, where Ingeteam’s CEO Adolfo Rebollo will discuss market forecasts from a technological perspective as well as the conditions and possibilities for increased investment in renewable energy.

At the end of last year, Ingeteam generated broad market attention with the introduction of INGECON WIND FIX2VAR SPEED, a ground-breaking autonomous power conversion system that increases the Annual Energy Production (AEP), lifetime and grid-performance of fixed-speed wind turbines by enabling them to transform to variable-speed machines to best match wind conditions.

Ingeteam also provides generators, turbine controllers, Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS), SCADA management systems and services for wind turbines up to 12 MW for onshore and offshore applications worldwide.

Since it began to do business in 1995, Ingeteam has commissioned almost 24,000 wind power converters worldwide, accounting for 36,414 MW of installed capacity, more than any of its competitors.
